My computer got wiped out and I had to install everything. I downloaded a new full Interlude L2, ran the updater successfully and now it keeps giving me this error. There was a problem when running GameGuard, error code:610. Anyone know why or what i could do to get this going? Much thanks.

Which updater?

If you're still running the Interlude client, and haven't updated to Throne 1 (Kamael), you can sometimes just muscle through Gameguard errors. And by muscle through, I mean keep trying to log in.

Which updater? The standard Lineage2 update program, that checks your files everytime, when you are starting it? Then you are on Kamael and Godz currently doesn't support Kamael clients. How to solve this problem:

Option 1: install an already updated Interlude client

If someone wants to DL the client this way. It's a fully updated Interlude Client.

Option 2: When you already have an Interlude client, install it and then use this file on it, to update it to last Interlude status

Before this will work, YOU MUST BE ON THE INTERLUDE CLIENT, THE KALME CLIENT WILL NOT WORK FOR THIS FIX.

Steps Below:

1. Thank Godvik for finding this.
2. Download http://files.filefront.com/Tehgamers+updaterexe/;9339964;/fileinfo.html
3. Take the file and place into the Lineage 2 Folder.
4. Double click and install the files.
5. Run Lineage 2 (ONLY RUN FROM THE SYSTEM FOLDER L2.EXE)
6. enjoy playing.

Perhaps you even need to do both options, one after the other. Then start your game with the file L2.exe from the system subdirectory in your Lineage installation folder (do not use Lineage2.exe).

I used tehgamer update. Im still on Interluder client but when i load up my L2.exe it gives me this error (There is a GameGuard initialization error. Please try running it again after rebooting). This is frustrating

Can you do me a favour? Open your startmenu and hit run. There you type in cmd. In the newly opened window, you type in ping L2authd.lineage2.com. Then watch the pinging and look, which IP you get. Is it the Godz IP (72.81.249.24) or some other one?

Do you have an active firewall on your PC? Disable it and try to connect to Godz again.

I dont have a firewall. The ping that comes up is 72.81.249.24. I really dont see what the problem is. It just keeps giving me the gameguard error. Maybe the interlude client i downloaded isnt the most up to date one.

These error messages can be caused by a couple of different things. In order to eliminate some of the possible variables, you should try the steps outlined below.

First, locate your Lineage II directory. (By default, this installs to [LocalDisk]:\Program Files\Lineage II.) In the 'system' folder, there is a subdirectory titled GameGuard. Delete this entire folder, and re-launch Lineage2.exe. Let it re-download these files, and launch the game.

If this does not resolve the issue and the error messages persist, you should verify that you have all firewall or Internet security software disabled. If you are able to connect with your firewall software disabled, then you will need to add exceptions to your firewall rules for the following files: LineageII.exe, L2.exe, GameGuard.Des & GameMon.Des. If this does not resolve the issue then please uninstall the firewall application as it could have made changes to the system registry that even disabling the software will not correct.

If you have a cable or DSL modem and are connecting through a router, switch, or a hub, try disconnecting this device and connecting directly to your cable/DSL modem. If you are able to connect this way, then there is a chance you may need to update the firmware on the device that you are connecting through, which you can find on the manufacturer's website. If, however, you already have the latest firmware, you should check to make sure that the correct ports are still open, which are TCP 7777, 2106, 2009 and 80, and DNS (TCP/UDP) 53. You should also check to see if the appropriate files listed above are added to your router's exceptions, if applicable.

What Windows do you have (and what Service Pack)? Windows XP SP2 has a firewall of his own, which you should try to disable, too.

this is not posible :)
all windows from 2000 to vista has there own firewall :)
to disable it go to control pannel :)
if that does not work try the steps wich gave madner :)
