To connect to L2Godz all that is required is to change the IP in the hosts file.
No client patching is required.
Current Client version needed:
Epilogue Final
Step by Step Instructions:
(1) Click on your Windows START menu, and then select Run.
(2) Type in the line:
notepad.exe %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
then click OK.
(3) When file opens, scroll to bottom, and on a new line write
178.63.43.199 L2authd.lineage2.com scroll down for a example of hosts file
(4) IMPORTANT: Click
File > Save and close the file. Check if you saved it as the right file, by doing Step
(1) and
(2) again.
(5) Download the most up-to-date version of Lineage II (Godz currently supports only Epilogue Final clients).
(6) Accounts are currently auto-create on our server. This means when you are at login screen in the game, simply type in the username and password you wish to use, and your account will be created when you log in.
DO NOT USE THE SAME LOGIN NAME AND CHARACTER NAME. Do not lose or forget you user name and password as the GM staff will not be able to retrieve this information.
(7) Log in with your new account information. Create a character with a unique name and get your L2 on!
Here is an example of a complete hosts file:
Quote:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
#
127.0.0.1 localhost

Still Can't Connect? (Check if you can connect to the sever)
Open a command prompt (by clicking start > run and type in cmd) and type in the following command:
ping l2authd.lineage2.com
Or in Vista (by clicking start > search and type in cmd)
ping l2authd.lineage2.com
Check if the ping reply you get says:
Pinging l2authd.lineage2.com [178.63.43.199] with 32 bytes of data:
if it does then your hosts file should be set up correctly and everything should be working fine. Make sure you have a clean installation of lineage2 without any patches or modifications and you should be able to connect.
If the reply returns from any other IP (the number in the [ ]) then something is not correct. Double check your hosts file, ensure that the filename has no extension. If still no luck do the following:
Click start > run and type in regedit. In regedit explore to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters
Check that the entry
DataBasePath contains the value
%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc. If it doesn't then some spyware may have hijacked this path so change it back and check your connection to Godz again.
Good luck and Welcome to Godz
